Dagny Fidler, Ph.D. is Assistant Academic Coordinator for Morningside University coordinating courses for teachers seeking certification to work with students who have multiple disabilities. Her educational background is in special education with a MS in Ed. from Drexel University and a Ph.D. from the University of Illinois.
Dr. Fidler has worked as a teacher, support teacher, consultant, administrator, and professor. She retired from her position as a special education administrator for Des Moines Schools where she worked mostly with students who had significant intellectual disabilities or severe behavior disorders. Over the years, she worked closely with OTs, PTs, and other related service staff providing instruction to students. She has worked with students at all grade levels in inner city and suburban settings as well as in state run facilities and public schools.
Dr. Fidler has been actively involved with the Council for Exceptional Children serving on the Division for Autism & Developmental Disabilities board for many years as well as CEC’s Inter-Divisional Caucus. She also served on the board of Iowa Council for Exceptional Children.
