Mary J. Bridle First Research Award is sponsored by Pi Theta Epsilon to encourage students to become actively involved in OT research. $250 is awarded annually. Applicants must submit research manuscript to the National Coordinator by October 15th each year. Learn more about this award here.
The President's Award honors and recognizes one or more Pi Theta Epsilon chapters for organizing and implementing outstanding scholarly activities. Examples of these events/activities are those developed to increase knowledge, develop professional skills, and further contribute to the advancement of occupational therapy. The event must be complete between February 1st and January 31st annually. Each chapter may submit one application which details one scholarly chapter event. All applications must be postmarked and mailed to the PTE national office by February 1, 2008. Applications will be reviewed by the national PTE executive committee and the winner will be determined by a majority vote of that committee. The winning chapter will be notified by March 15, 2008. All submitted applications will be published in the Spring issue of the Scroll and Pen. The winning chapter will also be recognized at the PTE Annual Business Meeting held in conjunction with the National AOTA Conference. To apply, submit information in accordance with the nomination instructions.
PTE’s Certificate of Distinction recognizes one or more Pi Theta Epsilon chapters for commitment and dedication to the mission and vision of PTE. The PTE Certificate of Distinction may be given to one or more chapters for their efforts to promote occupational therapy within their profession and/or community. Examples of these activities include but are not limited to sponsoring workshops at state and/or regional conferences, adapting the National PTE sponsored workshop for a local event, promoting and sponsoring research symposiums. The PTE Certificate of Distinction may be awarded throughout the year. Chapters who submit their event to the Scroll & Pen for Chapter News will be considered for PTE’s Certificate of Distinction. The write-up needs to include the purpose of the event/activity, how it promoted the advancement of occupational therapy and the outcome of the event.
