Kinsuk Maitra,

Dr. Maitra received a MSc in Human Physiology from Calcutta University in Calcutta, India, a PhD in Neuroscience/Motor Control from Jadavpur University in Calcutta, India and an MSOT from Ithaca College in Ithaca, New York. He is currently the Chair and Professor in the Occupational Therapy Department in the College of Nursing and Health Sciences at the Florida International University in Miami, Florida. Previously, he was the Associate Professor and Associate Chair of the Department of Occupational Therapy in the College of Health Sciences at Rush University Medical Center in Chicago, Illinois where his administrative responsibilities included five different clinical areas in the large university health care system.
His academic experience includes Associate Professor at the University of Toledo in Ohio, Assistant Professor at Ithaca College in New York, Post-Doctoral Fellow at the University of Western Ontario, Canada and a scientist at the Indian Institute of Chemical Biology in Calcutta, India. His most recent areas of OT research address OT interventions with adults. Dr. Maitra has received many awards and honors and is widely published in international and national professional publications. He also received a fellowship to the AOTF-AOTA Leadership Mentoring Fellowship Program for OT Program Directors.
