Scott Campbell, PhD
Chief Executive Officer
Scott Campbell, PhD
Dr. Campbell has served as AOTF’s Chief Executive Officer since May 2015. Previously, he was Executive Director and CEO of the Foundation for the National Institutes of Health, where he led collaborative research projects including the Alzheimer’s Disease Neuroimaging Initiative (ADNI), the Biomarkers Consortium, and Grand Challenges in Global Health.
From 2001-2010, he served as National Vice President of Research Programs at the American Diabetes Association, overseeing all research programs and helping acquire major donations. Dr. Campbell spent 16 years in academia with appointments at the University of South Dakota, University of Missouri, and Michael Reese Hospital.
Education: PhD in Basic Biomedical Sciences (University of South Florida)
Publications: 40 peer-reviewed articles, 9 invited reviews, 14 book chapters on cardiovascular disease

Satvika Garg, PhD, OTR/L
Dr. Satvika Garg serves as the Chief Scientific Officer at the American Occupational Therapy Foundation. She oversees the development, implementation, management, and evaluation of the Foundation’s scientific and research programs. She ensures fiscal and programmatic accountability for these programs and serves on the Foundation’s leadership team, advising the CEO. Additionally, Dr. Garg monitors the external environment to identify research priorities and opportunities that can build research capacity and advance the science of occupational therapy.
Before joining AOTF as Chief Scientific Officer, Dr. Garg held positions as an occupational therapist and research collaborator at Children’s National Hospital in Washington, D.C., and as an Adjunct Faculty Member at New York University (NYU). She earned her PhD in occupational therapy from New York University and her Master of Science in occupational therapy from Tufts University.

Emily Felipe, MS, OTR/L
Scientific & Research Programs Coordinator
Emily Felipe, MS, OTR/L
Emily Felipe joined AOTF in May 2023 as the Scientific & Research Programs Coordinator. She assists in developing, administering, and reporting on the organization’s scientific, research, grant, and educational programs and initiatives. She also provides administrative support and advice to program staff, grant reviewers, and grant applicants and awardees.
Before joining AOTF, Emily worked across diverse settings and communities as an occupational therapist in school-based and outpatient pediatric settings, providing both in-person and teletherapy services. During her graduate studies, she implemented occupational therapy health promotion initiatives in the Baltimore, Maryland area by creating stroke survivor support groups for those affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. Emily earned her Master of Science degree in occupational therapy from Towson University, graduating Magna Cum Laude.

Jeanne Cooper

Jeanne Cooper
Jeanne Cooper serves as the Foundation’s Chief Operating Officer and oversees its finances, human resources, and operations. She also serves as a Committee Liaison for Audit, Finance, Investment, STRIDE, and the Treasurer, as well as for AOTA Annual Conference logistics.
She joined AOTF in July 2008 as the Executive Director’s Assistant and became manager of the executive office in May 2016.
Before joining AOTF, Jeanne was the director of chapter relations at a trade association and has worked with other associations and foundations on professional advancement, chapter relations, membership, and certification. She majored in psychology at George Washington University.

Ana Levcovitz
Operations Programs Coordinator
Ana Levcovitz
Ana Levcovitz joined AOTF in June 2025 and supports core operational initiatives under the leadership of Chief Operating Officer Jeanne Cooper. As the Operations Programs Coordinator, she provides administrative support for donation and expense processing, human resources, and office management. She also serves as the primary point of contact for coordinating AOTF’s presence at the AOTA Annual Conference, contributing to the planning and execution of related activities.
Before joining AOTF, Ana held administrative and program coordination roles at the Urologic Oncology Branch of the National Cancer Institute and the Bender Jewish Community Center of Greater Washington. She has experience in nonprofit, educational, and federal settings, where she focused on improving operational systems, supporting leadership teams, and fostering mission-driven collaborations. Ana earned her bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts from the University of Maryland, College Park.

Kristin Bukovsky
Director of Communications and Marketing
Kristin Bukovsky
Kristin joined AOTF in fall 2019 as Director of Communications & Marketing. She advances the AOTF mission by developing high-impact marketing and communications plans aligned with strategic goals and implementing them with her team to build awareness, outreach, trust, and support among community partners. She also serves as the editorial board and publisher liaison for the Foundation’s peer-reviewed OTJR: Occupational Therapy Journal of Research.
Before joining the Foundation, she served as Director of Marketing at the American Society of Nuclear Cardiology (ASNC) for five years, Communications Specialist at the Anacostia Watershed Society (AWS), and Account Manager at Nemetschek Vectorworks Inc., a computer-aided design software company. She earned her BS in Corporate Communications at the University of Baltimore and also holds an Associate’s degree in Computer-Aided Design.

Madison Toomey

Madison Toomey
Madison Toomey joined the American Occupational Therapy Foundation in the summer of 2025 as Communications Coordinator. She helps develop engaging content and strategies to promote AOTF’s core mission of advancing evidence-based occupational therapy research across all forms of communication.
Previously, Madison was the Communications Associate at the U.S. Global Leadership Coalition, an international affairs advocacy nonprofit. There, she used social media and digital communications to amplify events, grow the organization’s audience, and tell the story of why investing in diplomacy is critical to Americans. Madison graduated cum laude from George Washington University in 2022 with a BA in International Affairs.

Lawrence Liff, MA
Lawrence Liff joined AOTF in October 2017 as Chief Development Officer. In this role, he advances the Foundation’s philanthropic priorities, engages individuals, companies, and organizations that wish to support the AOTF mission, stewards donors, and manages the AOTF Development Council.
Before joining AOTF, Lawrence worked at the University of Maryland, College Park. From 2012 to 2017, he served as Director of Development at the College of Information Studies, and from 2004 to 201,2, he was Associate Director of Development for the College of Computer, Mathematical, and Natural Sciences. He earned his BA in American History and Political Science in 2001 from the University of Maryland and his Master of Public Policy in 2010.

Sandy Weiss
Office Assistant
Sandy Weiss
Sandy Weiss joined AOTF as a part-time Office Assistant in December 2019. She provides program support for the Pi Theta Epsilon honor society and processes donations while ensuring database integrity.
After graduating from the University of Maryland, Sandy worked as a Senior Administrative Assistant and Conference Planning Assistant for the National Association of Community Health Centers. Most recently, she served as an Office Manager at two local preschools and is currently an Assistant Teacher in creative enrichment classes at public elementary schools.

David Robertson, MA
Student Activities Manager
David Robertson, MA
David Robertson joined AOTF in July 2017 and, in May 2019, was promoted to Student Activities Manager, serving as the national coordinator for the St. Catherine Challenge and Pi Theta Epsilon. He also supports the Foundation’s educational scholarship program.
He previously worked in the educational sector as a program coordinator with Learn It Systems. Before that, he served as the Assistant Director of Family Relations and Special Events at Washington International School in Washington, D.C. David holds a BS and a Master of Education (MEd) from Springfield College, where he served as the graduate assistant to the Sports Information Director before entering the sports industry.
