Leadership Fellows Program
The American Occupational Therapy Foundation and the American Occupational Therapy Association jointly support a Fellowship Program specifically focused on advanced leadership development. This program fosters the emergence of strong occupational therapy leaders within the academic community, while at the same time building the profession’s capacity to influence and lead. The Fellowship Program is especially designed for individuals with leadership responsibility in accredited occupational therapy educational programs. The fellowships are intended for applicants who are enthusiastic about advancing their academic careers, who want to more effectively address their challenging administrative and programmatic responsibilities, and who wish to assume increased leadership roles within their professional, academic and civic communities.
The ten-month program consists of two face-to-face meetings lasting 2-3 days, and sixteen additional sessions that are provided online. The fellowship experience requires personal reflection, written assignments and case studies. Tuition costs for the program, along with required materials, are underwritten by the Fellowship support provided by AOTF and AOTA. Travel and accommodation expenses for the face-to-face meetings are borne by the fellows or their institutional sponsors. Please note that fellowship nominees must be current members of AOTA to be eligible.
Application (nomination) instructions for the 2010 Leadership Fellows Program can be found here. The deadline for receipt of nominations for the 2010 fellowships is December 1, 2009.
