Bethesda, Maryland - The Director of the Institute for the Study of Occupation and Health in the American Occupational Therapy Foundation (AOTF), Jeffrey S. Reznick, PhD, will leave the AOTF to join the National Library of Medicine (NLM) of the National Institutes of Health effective October 16, 2009. Dr. Reznick will serve as Deputy Director in the History of Medicine Division at NLM. Reznick has served as AOTF Institute Director since February, 2007.
In announcing this change, Dr. Charles H. Christiansen, Executive Director of the AOTF, commented, "The Foundation has been fortunate to have an Institute Director with Dr. Reznick's talent over the past three years. His work has benefitted the organization in numerous ways."
"It has been an honor and a privilege to serve the occupational therapy profession through the AOTF," said Dr. Reznick of his departure. "I wish the Foundation every success as it continues to build its organizational relationships in the areas of research, public awareness, and leadership development."
Established in 2000, the AOTF Institute for the Study of Occupation and Health is the primary home of AOTF's scientific programs and related initiatives. The Institute oversees the Wilma L. West Library, grant and fellowship programs, a scientific journal, and a variety of annual research-related conference programs.
The American Occupational Therapy Foundation is a 501 (c)(3) charitable, scientific and educational organization establsihed in 1965. Its mission is to advance research, education, and leadership in the field of occupational therapy and to raise public awareness of the importance of enabling individuals to participate fully in life regardless of their physical, social, mental, or developmental circumstances.
