Fellowships for Occupational Therapists
at the University of Illinois at Chicago

The Department
of Occupational Therapy at the University of Illinois at Chicago
(UIC) announces the availability of Post-doctoral fellowships.
These fellowships are funded by the U.S. Department of Education:
National Institute on Disability and Rehabilitation Research,
and the American Occupational Therapy Association and Foundation.
Fellowship recipients
will receive intensive mentoring and support to develop as
researchers and scholars. Fellows will participate in the
Center for Outcomes Research and Education (CORE), which is
the only such center funded by the AOTA and AOTF. The CORE
sponsors bi-annual symposia that include presentations by
nationally recognized researchers on research design, methodology,
and grant writing in the area of outcomes research. The 17
CORE fellows include OT researchers from the U.S., Canada,
and Sweden.
Post-doctoral fellows
will have the opportunity to participate in the interdisciplinary
PhD in Disability Studies, which is offered jointly by the
Departments of Occupational and Physical Therapy and the Department
of Disability and Human Development.
Fellowships are
available for either one or two-year periods; salaries are
competitive and benefits are excellent. An earned doctorate
is required.
