Doctoral
Network
...................................................................................................................
The mission of
the Doctoral Network is to facilitate the development of doctoral
education through the fostering of support of occupational
therapy practitioners engaged in doctoral education, by providing
networking opportunities, and through collaboration among
emerging and established scholars. Occupational therapy practitioners
currently enrolled in doctoral programs or who have already
earned their doctoral degrees are eligible to join the Doctoral
Network (DN).
The Doctoral Network
is not an official group of either The American Occupational
Therapy Association (AOTA) or of the American Occupational
Therapy Foundation (AOTF). In 1995, the AOTF Board of Directors
approved its Executive Director's request that AOTF provide
support for and coordination of the activities of the Doctoral
Network.
The DN's mission
fits well with one of the Foundation's primary objectives:
to promote excellence in occupational therapy education. DN
members receive periodical mailings that include announcements
about DN programs and other information or resources of interest
to this group. During the Annual Conference of the American
Occupational Therapy Association, the Doctoral Network Coordinator
hosts an Annual Meeting and Reception that is sponsored by
the American Occupational Therapy Foundation.
An on-line directory
of DN members is available to members only. Interested non-members
may request to join the Doctoral Network by filling out an
electronic form. For further infromation, please contact one
