Clinical
Fact Sheets
In 1988 the American
Occupational Therapy Foundation and The American Occupational
Therapy Association determined that there was increasing need
for outcomes data to support the practice of occupational
therapy. A new category of research grants was established
to permit awards of up to $30,000 (later expanded to $50,000)
in support of such studies.
The terms of these
grants required a commitment by the principal investigator
to seek additional funds in support of further research. The
grant also required the completion of a Clinical FACT Sheet,
a one-page report prepared by the principal investigator in
language suitable for immediate use by clinicians practicing
in the field. A packet of these Clinical FACT Sheets is available
on request from the American Occupational Therapy Foundation,
at a cost of $5.00 to cover postage and handling.
