Since its founding, the American Occupational Therapy Foundation has received several bequests through the generosity of friends and supporters who have created provisions in their wills for specific gifts of investments, or cash to the benefit of the AOTF. Such bequests represent enduring gifts that help assure that the lifelong work and interest of benefactors continues through the various programs of the foundation.
Bequests may be worded in a manner that creates an endowment for specific purposes of interest to the donor, or may be of the non-endowment variety where discretion is left to the Board of Directors to direct the resources to areas of current need and importance. Suggested language for these types of bequests can be found here.
AOTF appreciates notification of the creation of bequests in its name. Although copies of wills or pertinent pages are received and filed for informational purposes, the Foundation recognizes the personal nature of these documents and neither expects nor requests full copies of wills when AOTF is named as a beneficiary. |
