The Millennium Scholarship Campaign is a special fundraising initiative designed to increase the number and amount of scholarships awarded annually to students enrolled in accredited occupational therapy programs in the United States. The provision of scholarships is viewed as an important foundation activity and the goal of the campaign is to double the number of scholarships given annually and to ensure that each scholarship given is at least $1,000.

 

Currently, the foundation works in partnership with various states to create and manage endowed scholarship funds. Scholarships are awarded to qualified applicants who meet specified criteria designated by the originating state associations or private benefactors. All applicants must complete an electronic application within the defined application period and demonstrate current membership in both the American Occupational Therapy Association and the association in the state from which they are applying. Only applicants who have completed one year of study are eligible.

 

A named scholarship endowment can be created with an investment of at least $25,000. Please contact the foundation for further information on creating a scholarship endowment. This is an enduring and gratifying way to memorialize a family member or cherished colleague. An endowment continues in perpetuity to meet the stated aims of its creator.
