The Mission of AOTF
To advance research, education, and leadership in the field of occupational therapy and raise public awareness of the importance of enabling individuals to participate fully in life regardless of their physical, social, mental, or developmental circumstances.
The Vision of AOTF
AOTF will be a leader in transforming the occupational therapy profession to be science driven outcome focused, and responsive to the needs of society, including healthcare.
The Goals or Strategic Ends of AOTF
Leadership Development
To facilitate the development of potential and current leaders in occupational therapy.
Financial Stability
To be financially sustainable and viable in order to carry out its mission/core purpose and strategic direction.
Public Recognition and Influence
To be an influential voice for occupational therapy as a societal force promoting quality of life through participation in meaningful roles and activities.
Research
To be a leader in supporting interdisciplinary and occupational therapy research that advances science and knowledge about occupation, participation, and health. (AOTF Statement on Research and the Public Interest)
Education
To facilitate the highest level of occupational therapy practice and research through excellence in education and capacity building.
The Strategic Plan of AOTF
Every three years, the AOTF Board of Directors approves a strategic plan based on its current strategic ends. These ends or goals serve as a guide for foundation staff in planning and executing the means through which the goals (ends) of the strategic plan are pursued. |
