Carlotta Welles,
MA, OTR, FAOTA
Carlotta is the recipient of both the AOTA Award of Merit and of the AOTA and AOTF Presidents' Commendation, established in honor of Wilma L. West. Carlotta's long career truly exemplifies the criteria for awarding the Presidents' Commendation; that is, the gift of leadership along with enthusiasm and commitment to the profession exemplified by a lifetime of achievement. Carlotta has been achieving, leading, and giving to the profession of Occupational Therapy since receiving her diploma from the Boston School of Occupational Therapy in 1941. In 1953, she earned a master's degree from the University of Southern California and later, in 1970, teacher training at the University of California, Los Angeles. Carlotta has filled the positions of a clinician, consultant, educator, and financial advisor to both AOTA and AOTF. In retirement, Carlotta continues to support the Occupational Therapy profession.
